The Secret to Prosperity
Prosperity can include many things, but it is fundamentally a lifestyle and a mindset. Most people have prosperity associated with money. But thinking about money alone is never enough. If you see yourself as a poor person who is desperately in need of money, this is not likely to lead to a dramatic change in your situation. And feeling financially poor is relative. You could be making $100,000 a year and still be unable to pay your bills.
On the other hand, there are people making far less money than that who are perfectly content with their situation. It’s all about balance in your life and what is important to you. There are no rights or wrongs. It simply has to do with how you see things for yourself, and what kind of life you want to experience.
Let’s start with talking about your mindset and how you see yourself. Everyone has a certain, unique perspective on their own life. How do you frame yourself overall when it comes to prosperity? It might help to write this down, so that you have a clearer picture. After you have assessed this, ask yourself if your portrayal of yourself sounds like someone who could experience financial abundance. If the answer is no, then that indicates that a change in perspective is necessary.
Now we have to talk about the path to that necessary change. First of all, let’s dispense with the idea that angels, fairies, unicorns, and what-have-you will bring us money out of the blue. That may be a rare, one-time occurrence, but it’s hardly a change in lifestyle. So we have to get a lot more practical than that.
The first thing that you must do is be willing to see yourself differently. Prosperity is a mindset that is fundamentally positive. If you are harboring any ancient, religious beliefs that prosperity is evil and that God rewards poverty, you will have to be willing to give that up. If you believe that having money is not spiritual, then I recommend that you re-evaluate your definition of spirituality.
Prosperity and abundance are deeply spiritual, because they eliminate lack. They permit you to be happy and creative. They free you to help others, rather than being completely preoccupied with your own survival. Prosperity is primary, whereas poverty is secondary. The definition of poverty is the absence of abundance. However, abundance is not the absence of poverty. Abundance is like light. It stands on its own and doesn’t need poverty in order to exist. But poverty can only be known as the absence of something. This is why it is so painful. It exists as a constant reminder of what you don’t have.
Those who experience prosperity are not sitting around preoccupied with not having poverty. They are likely living in a state of continuous expansion and creative joy. So if you have a negative view of yourself when it comes to the subject of prosperity, you can hopefully see that this view is not conducive to success. Therefore it is time to change your view.
We are so used to defining ourselves according to what has already happened. So if you have felt poor in some way, you will likely use that as evidence for your definition of self. Here comes the hard part. Are you willing to change your definition of self to a more positive, prosperous one even if there is no physical evidence of that now or in your past? If you are not willing to do this, then you are extremely likely to experience more of the same of whatever you have been through so far.
Whatever you believe yourself to be, your subconscious mind will happily provide you with exactly that experience. So if you want to have a different experience, you will have to start with believing something different about yourself. You will have to find ways to convince yourself that you have changed as a person and no longer expect more of the same. You will have to be tenacious and not give up. Eventually, your subconscious mind will absorb your new belief and the transformation will begin. You will start to think differently and then act differently. You will begin to see opportunities that you had previously been blinded to.
There are many ways to embed new beliefs into your subconscious mind. One way is by writing or speaking affirmations that correspond to the new you that you are creating. Another way is to visualize (which means to imagine) yourself living the new life that you plan to create. It is important to get emotionally involved with your new vision. A belief is never really real unless it is backed by emotion.
The next thing that you need to realize is that changing your life for the better, particularly when it comes to prosperity, will take action and it will take effort. You will have to be willing to do things differently. This is why it is so important to change your beliefs about yourself to something more positive that supports expanded abundance. By changing your beliefs, you also change what is important to you. When you change what is important, you will change your behavior to match what is important. So all of these things work together in synergy.
And finally, you can always ask God and your angels to help you with this process. Remember that you are designed to be a co-creator with the universe. You are not meant to do this alone. Your subconscious mind is connected to the super-conscious mind, which is connected to the quantum universe where all things are created. Your divine intelligence knows all of this. All you have to do is be sincerely willing to change, and then have that change physically manifest in your life.

Hi Saratoga:
I’ve always believed that we were meant to live like Gods and Goddesses, full of creative power, potential and prosperity. I had never found a way to express that belief as everyone around me was expressing the opposite. Thank you for putting into words what I’ve always felt were true ever since I could remember!
I am putting into practice this belief, and I find that it is a process to get to that place of emotionally connecting to new thoughts. For example, in order to do so, I have had to disengage from the thoughts and beliefs that were entrenched with “that will never happen; who do you think you are; this is just a fantasy”, and trust in my heart that what I want is real, and can happen. I realized, ultimately, it is about taking a stand for what I’ve always believed to be true and having the courage to make the changes to align with that thought, so that the magic of the universe can manifest through me! Thanks, Saratoga!
Grace, I like what you are saying about disengaging from unproductive, negative beliefs. It’s interesting that we are more inclined to be controlled by our beliefs, rather than realizing we have the power to decide what those beliefs are. We actually have the power to design our own thought processes. It’s funny that we don’t tend to exercise that power, isn’t it? That’s where transformation really occurs. 🙂
Thank You Saratoga for this most practical blog! It makes it very easy for me to be able to understand and put into practice. It’s a great reminder that I can do this!
We live fairly prosperous lives now, and have purchased a condominium that we are planning moving into in a couple of years when our children are out of the house, however I have been plagued by my “what ifs” as in “what if my husband loses his job and we can’t make the payments?” “what if the kids don’t find work and can’t move out and we will have to carry two places?” …. I am sure you get my drift.
Since reconnecting with you, I realize that that is my ego having a great old time with me!!! And that that is counter productive and probably what is causing great stress on both our lives at the moment. Your suggestions give me peace that I can be more aware of my thoughts and counteract those “what if’s” with the knowledge that I have tools that will secure our future to a more fruitful and joyous one. It gives me peace and excitement for the future rather than dread and anxiety.
My husband always talks about how good it will be when we get in our condo just the two of us and it will be a 5 minute walk to work for him, and I will share in his joy from now on instead of being the “party pooper” with my negative thoughts, as I realize as well how toxic they are. I also will use these suggestions for a more abundant life in the present moment as well as the future. It is very free-ing! Thanks again for your timely message! – Susan McDonald
Susan, it sounds like acquiring the condominium was a success for you guys. From what you describe here, it sounds like the ego is proving itself once again to have a real problem with that. 🙂 When you stand back from that negative voice, it becomes so obvious that it is a voice that condones failure and is highly suspicious of success and positive outcomes. It’s not a great “friend”, is it? I’m glad you no longer want to identify with – as you call it – the “party pooper”. 🙂
Thank you for this wonderful blog Saratoga. Your description of “You will have to be willing to do things differently.” and how to do that through “action and effort” is so very clear and helpful. As I try to put these principles into action in my own life I deeply appreciate your guidance and support.
One time Mikhail (Telstar) said to me, “Everyone wants their life to change, as long as nothing changes.” I thought this was so profound because it is such a common tendency. We want our lives to change for the better, as long as we don’t have to change. This makes no sense because how we are is what leads to the conditions in our lives in the first place. Those conditions can’t change unless we change our consciousness first. Secondly, we must change our actions and decisions. Thanks, Marianne!
Hello Saratoga, you guidance always comes through when I need it most in my creative endeavours. I have longed been aware that my subconscious shift to abundant life can happen only when my thoughts pave the way, but to experience it is heavenly.
Last night I went to bed telling my subconscious mind (as I have been doing for some time) that I will continue with my wealth building when I awake. I see my newly self-published book: “In Praise of the Pomegranate” becoming a best seller – a million copies plus. I awoke telling myself I needed to feel the love, remember why I wrote this book, and quit stressing about how it will happen! Oh, I am so tired of stressing about success.
And here I awake to receive your inspiring blog, fuelling my energy, in knowing (or reminding myself) that I am not alone in claiming the abundance that is mine. Less I kid myself, I have been here before. Only this time, I am staying with the process – no distractions, no detours.
Oh what a fortunate day I connected with Telstar.
Love, Monica.
Monica, I love what you said about “stressing about success”. Let your subconscious mind figure out how it will happen. That is the true genius within. As long as you adequately program it with a new set of positive instructions, it will eventually lead you to whatever you need to know or do in order to achieve that success.
I would love to see your elegant book “In Praise of the Pomegranate” become a huge success! Good luck and much love. xoxo
Dear Saratoga,
I find your posts to be so inspiring that I share and save many of them. Right now I find myself in a state of transition in terms of work. Retirement. I want to continue to work but I want my work to have purpose and I need to be passionate about what I do at this stage of my life. By changing my attitude and affirming the positives in my transition, I am creating a life filled with peace, harmony, prosperity, and
abundance. Thank you for you insights and motivation.
Doris, it’s wonderful that you want to do purposeful work that you are passionate about. I think that is one of the secrets to happiness. Good luck with your transition. It sounds like things could be lining up beautifully for you, especially since you have an excellent attitude! 🙂
I am that I am / I am abundant / I am prosperous / I am love / I am loving / I am Loveable / I am peace because peace begins with me❗️ I am grateful and thankful to my teacher, Saratoga Ocean for inspiration, Guidance, love and light‼️ One
Bless you, Eunice. You are such a joy! 🙂
Dear Saratoga,
This message resonates with me fully. I also find that the pictures illustrate your points beautifully. Nature is amazingly abundant on so many levels and never seems to be in doubt about it. We Humans can learn much from this.
Many Blessings,
Lucille
Thank you, Lucille. You have a great point here about nature’s abundance. Nature is naturally abundant in so many ways! It just flourishes forever. We can definitely take a lesson from this, and align with it in terms of how we see our lives.
HI Saratoga,
Thank you for this wonderful message. There are so many “Gems” in these words. I love the Truth that Prosperity is primary, that it stands on its own and does not need poverty to exist. And that this is not true of poverty. The pain felt from poverty is a constant reminder of what we do not have. This brings to mind the previous Global Vision writings of Mikhail. He states that when something wrong happens your heart hurts. And that this is telling us that something is wrong.
I am reminded in this article that we have support from the Universe. This is such a comfort. I always try to do everything by myself. This really helps.. thank you so much Saratoga.
Much Love… Kathleen
It is very interesting that we tend to view poverty and prosperity as equal, isn’t it? In truth, they are not equal at all. One is the presence of something (prosperity) and the other (poverty) is the absence of something. Both are really about prosperity. It’s quite a paradigm shift, isn’t it?
Saratoga, this is so amazing, thank you! All of these comments are like a cascade of gemstones, I keep picking up. Abundance is like light – like omnipresence, and to my true self this seems such a natural match. Faith, prayer, and confidence to change — I can see it now, it will take effort and action – And God and Angels help. Thank you, you are a fountain of light and love to us all
Barb, it’s funny but it’s the “action” part that most people tend to miss. For some odd reason, we are more given to wishful thinking when it comes to prosperity, even though that perspective is entirely unrealistic. It would be as silly as thinking that you could wish for a new car to appear in your driveway, then look out the window and see it there physically. We humans can be so silly sometimes!
I really like what you say about prosperity and abundance being deeply spiritual, enabling us to help others and to have a positive impact in the world. I know I have had the most success in manifesting abundance when I have held a strong vision and when I have had a specific reason to require abundance. For me, those reasons have always revolved around seeking the truth about what’s really going on here and around helping to shift this reality to the infinite truth that I have always known it was meant to be.
Reading through this article, I began to wonder about the other areas of my life where abundance was not as present. I thought perhaps I should take a closer look at those areas and see what I might do about them. I then had a very interesting observation. Areas that would contribute in some way to the larger vision of evolution needed to be linked up to it in my mind. In this way, they would gain a new context and importance and there would then be a clear reason to require them, which would then create a greater possibility for abundance. Areas that don’t really contribute to the larger vision are ones that I don’t really need to focus my energy on anyway. 🙂
Thank you so much for such a wonderful and insightful post! All your blog and Facebook posts are so valuable and are so clearly necessary right now.
Avalon, this is a good point. It’s a really good idea to look at every area of life for your level of abundance and prosperity. How about an abundance of self-worth and self-respect? An abundance of health? Prosperity achieved in fulfilling one’s life purpose? Prosperity of fulfillment? The possibilities are endless!
Saratoga, I realize I am a bit late but would love to comment on this wonderful blog and how deeply it has affected me. I see now that I have been approaching my heart felt desire to allow abundance into my life in a totally wrong way!! Just “thinking” of my self as a prosperous being and then going out and spending money to somehow “prove it” is not the way to go about change, and I now see how ridiculous this has been because it simply creates a downward spiral for me. What you have said makes total sense and I am so grateful, as it heads me in a new and refreshing direction with my growth. I am embracing myself so much more now in my life and I can see that abundance is completely possible for me to step into, just with a new perspective. I am certainly willing to see myself as very much aligned with all the amazing abundance that is everywhere! Thank you Saratoga!
