Manifest a Beautiful Journey

There is an important step in the manifestation process that many people forget. And that is to include the quality of your journey in the larger vision of your destination. A goal pursued without any thought given to your daily experience of life can devolve into an empty, unmotivated pursuit.

Reaching your goals should not merely exist as a badge of honor to your achievements. What it should really do is make you the happiest person on Earth. The quality of your experience is everything.

So let’s talk about the day-to-day experience you should cultivate while in the process of achieving your wider creations.

How you feel and how you take care of yourself in the process of living as a creator in your life matters. This means daily care of your body, mind, and spirit. It is never wise to run roughshod over yourself in a wild attempt to “get somewhere” as fast as possible.

The Story We’re Told About Ourselves

In our society we are generally not taught to treat ourselves as sacred vessels. On the contrary, we are given a distinct message that we are last on our own lists for everything. This includes sleep, healthy eating, exercise, and how we treat ourselves overall.

Let’s look at the way the average person treats themselves. It’s okay to get as little sleep as possible. It’s okay to eat anything at all – literally anything – as long as it tastes good. It’s okay to never move a muscle as long as you can still sit up and type on a keyboard. So that’s the physical standard: basically poverty in everything.

Next we have the average mental and emotional standard, which demonstrates the same level of poverty again. It’s okay to expose yourself to anything and everything, no matter how it affects you emotionally.

And worse yet, it’s considered completely normal to badmouth yourself and judge yourself negatively all day long. The mind is often treated worse than the stomach. At least with the stomach, food that goes in there has to taste good.

When it comes to the mind, all bets are off. Anything and everything goes in there with no discrimination whatsoever. What sort of species will beat themselves up mentally and have no problem with that? In fact, the negative self-talk that is so prevalent is actually considered to be “the secret, real truth” about oneself.

Why Life Feels So Hard

When you consider all of the above, it’s no wonder that we find life so difficult much of the time.

Everything I just described illustrates a condition where people do not value themselves. The standard can go as low as saying that survival and the ability to perform the basics are good enough. We have become extremely good at ignoring ourselves.

The first step is to be honest with yourself about the quality of your experience. If you are not willing to take excellent care of yourself, then what does that really say? It says that you don’t matter. It says that you aren’t important enough.

This makes it extremely difficult to be motivated or to have the energy to go forward in life. The idea of reaching positive, uplifting goals is completely incongruent with behavior that says you are not important to yourself.

A New Relationship With Yourself

Part of improving your life is improving your relationship with yourself. If you are to nurture any goal, you will have to nurture yourself along with it. This starts with a paradigm shift in terms of how you view yourself.

Decide to shed your old view of yourself – the one that was not empowering. The one that led to an unfulfilled way of life. Don’t try to hang onto that same view and expect different results.

Decide to clean your house mentally. Refuse to accept any more negative judgments against yourself. Throw them out as useless garbage. And they are indeed useless.

Start with a clean slate; a brand new perspective. Connect a few dots. You are the most important person in your life, and you absolutely matter to everything that you do.

A Simple Way to Begin

The first step is to assess where you are with yourself. Assess your overall mindset. Where are you ignoring your own physical, mental, and emotional needs?

Do some deep soul-searching and see if you would be willing to view yourself as your single, most important asset. Are you willing to see yourself as a sacred being who deserves your utmost respect and love?

Next, evaluate three areas of life: your physical body, your mental and emotional state, and your spiritual state of being connected to divine love. Ask yourself what one thing you could change in each of these three areas to begin nurturing yourself. What could you do in each of these areas to heal yourself and empower yourself as a being?

And finally, act on what you have figured out. This will be the hardest part if you are not used to it. So take small steps at first. Any steps at all will be a success. For example, if you determine that you need to meditate but can’t see how to fit it in every day, then start with one day a week until it feels natural. If the idea of regular exercise seems too overwhelming, then just take a short walk every day or every three days.

Do something, no matter how small, to turn the tide of how you are treating yourself. Create physical evidence that you have changed how you love and respect yourself in whatever small ways you can, and then build on that accordingly.
