In a world that feels like it’s shifting under our feet – technology moving faster than we can absorb it, institutions wobbling, the news cycle a constant source of uncertainty and chaos – it’s tempting to feel like a passenger in your own life.
But there’s another way to move through instability: as a creator, instead of a reactor. Sometimes people look for a magical formula to create the life that they want. But creating a great life doesn’t come from magic. It actually comes from living in a certain way, and from building your strength to live as a creator.
There are 5 things to keep in mind that you need to make a part of your everyday experience, if you truly want to master the skill of living your best life possible.
1. An Inspired Vision for Your Life

An inspired vision is your starting point. It’s what gives your life purpose and meaning. Knowing your vision is really an act of discovery. It’s about taking the time to search your heart and acknowledge what really matters to you. What would your ideal life look like? What would make you truly happy? Journaling about this can help in your process of discovery.
2. Goals
Once you know what your vision is, you need a plan to get there. You need to outline the steps you are going to take to make it a reality. This is your map to reach the treasure of your desired outcome. Without goals, a vision is just a wish. Start with some bigger, longer-term steps, and then break those down into smaller, short-term steps. Schedule those steps wherever you can. Now you have a plan to make your vision a reality.
(If you want more in-depth, guided support with these first two steps, I created Stepping Stones to Happiness – a self-paced course that walks you through building your own personalized roadmap from vision to aligned, achievable goals.)
3. Self-Care

This is something that so often gets overlooked. You need to stay balanced, healthy, and centered so that you have the energy needed to create your desired life. Self-care can come in many forms. It’s about caring for your consciousness, your energy, and your physical body. Think about any changes you need to make in your routine to stay in better balance. Do you need more sleep? Do you need to take breaks during the day? Perhaps you need to meditate or be more mindful about the time you spend online. You know what it is for you. Make those positive changes in your daily or weekly schedule.
4. Mindfulness About Your Thoughts
Start to become more self-aware. What do you find yourself thinking about most of the time? Are you chronically pessimistic or negative? If so, make a conscious effort to change those unhelpful thoughts into something more positive. What you think about influences your emotions. And your emotions will raise or lower your vibration. A high vibration is the result of positivity and optimism. And a positive, high vibration makes it much more likely that your desired results will come into fruition.
5. Inspiration and Motivation

Inspiration is the fuel for motivation. And motivation is what will keep you going when things get tough. What we don’t often realize is that we are each responsible for our own level of inspiration. And we are each unique in terms of what inspires us. So don’t make the common mistake of waiting around to feel inspired. Instead, make it your intention to feel inspired every day! You should always aim your inspiration at your desired vision and goals. Again, this is primarily an act of discovery. Start to gain clarity about what inspires you personally. Maybe it’s reading certain books or listening to your favorite podcast. Perhaps it’s a spiritual practice. Or maybe it’s something creative. Figure out a variety of things that work for you, and make it a regular part of your life.
Just as you feed your body with food when you are hungry, it’s also important to fortify your soul and your consciousness with regular inspiration.
If you make these five things a regular part of your life, you will tremendously strengthen your capability to create a wonderful life. And you deserve that! It’s why you are alive.
Ready to Make the Shift?

We just explored 5 concrete things you can do to start living like a creator. But underneath all of it, there’s a mindset question that has to be answered first: Do you actually believe you have the power to create your life? Or does some part of you still believe it’s out of your hands?
That second belief is what I call the “victim mindset” – the sense that you’re waiting on some person, circumstance, or the state of the world to change before your life can. It’s the single biggest thing standing between people and the life they actually want.
That’s exactly why I created The Creator’s Path – a free guide and worksheet that walks you through the shift from feeling stuck to living as an unstoppable creator, in 4 simple steps you can return to again and again, in any area of your life.
