We are living through a period of relentless external pressure. Political instability, economic uncertainty, rapid technological disruption, and a 24-hour news cycle that rarely pauses – it can feel as though the world is in a constant state of upheaval. And whether or not you are consciously tracking all of it, your energy field is absorbing it.
This is not a small thing. When the outer world is volatile, our inner world pays the price. We find ourselves more reactive, more exhausted, more mentally cluttered. Not because something is wrong with us, but because we are sensitive, aware human beings living in genuinely turbulent times.
The question is whether you will allow your energy – and therefore your perception, your clarity, and your experience of life – to remain at the mercy of outer world chaos. Or whether you will learn to reset.
So that’s what I want to help you start learning today.
How Energy Accumulates in the First Place

We humans have a tendency to accumulate energy every single day, just through the course of living. The nature of that energy is related to our thoughts, our emotions, and our circumstances. We draw to us what we are most preoccupied with.
For example, if we are having a bad day, our thoughts are likely to reflect that experience, and so are our emotions. The energy we take on as a result creates a kind of filter for any further perceptions. We may find ourselves noticing other negative things we might have otherwise overlooked. By the end of the day, we could be feeling quite tired and drained.
Why Negative Energy Gets Stuck
Here is the interesting thing about accumulating energy: we tend to accumulate only the energy related to negative or even mildly negative experiences. When our experience is one of joy, peace, or happiness, we seem to release that energy with ease.
Here is why this happens: negative energy is fear-based. And fear keeps us in a pattern of holding. When we are in a state of fear or anxiety, we are tense. We therefore unconsciously hold onto the energy of that experience. This can be as innocuous as being stressed out while sitting in rush hour traffic, or simply being late to a meeting. It does not have to manifest as a big deal. It can be as simple as encountering someone we do not like. Such minor experiences happen daily to all of us.
It’s also worth noting that the world we are living in right now has become particularly challenging when it comes to negative, fear-based energy. So much of the communication that surrounds us – news media, social platforms, headlines designed to capture attention – is structured to provoke fear and anxiety. This means that for many people, low-level fear has become a near-constant background frequency, driven not by anything in their personal lives, but by events entirely outside of their control.

Now here’s an interesting contrast. When we feel happy and peaceful, we are usually in a state of openness, trust, and relaxation. We are not inclined to hold onto anything. Instead, we are naturally letting go into the flow of that positive experience. Our energy flows through us accordingly and is naturally released.
So when we talk about accumulating energy, we are generally referring to energy of a slower frequency and lower vibration. Happiness is high energy. It moves. Negative energy, even when minor, is slow and tends to get stuck.
The more of this slower, low-vibration energy we accumulate, the more tired and drained we feel. Accumulate enough of it, and you might find yourself feeling discouraged or even depressed.
What Happens When You Stop Clearing Your Energy

This is why it is important to regularly clear your energy and refresh yourself. It is important to reset. Otherwise, your whole life can begin to feel stuck, and you may not understand why.
Think of it this way: when water flows, it remains clear and clean. It stays fresh. But when water sits in a stagnant pool, it becomes dirty and polluted. Think of your energy in the same way.
As long as you keep your energy fresh and flowing through your being, your consciousness will remain clear and unimpeded. But when you start accumulating old energy through repetitive or uncomfortable thoughts and experiences, your energy begins to stagnate. Your consciousness becomes clouded with thoughts that grow increasingly difficult to process and integrate. You can become overwhelmed and exhausted.
The solution is not to push through. The solution is to pause, refresh, and reset.
How to Clear Your Energy: The Most Powerful Method

You can clear your energy in a number of ways. Saging, crystals, a cleansing shower or bath, a walk outside in nature – these are all valid and supportive practices.
But the simplest and most powerful method involves nothing more than your own mind.
Here is how it works:
Stop whatever you are doing. Pause and become aware of what you are feeling right now with no judgment. Then make a firm, conscious decision to let go of everything that has accumulated prior to this moment, and start over again. Decide to reset everything and begin anew.
The moment you do this, you will feel an immediate sense of relief.
This method works because it operates at the level of consciousness itself, not just the physical body. There is no experience too heavy, no day too difficult, that it cannot be positively influenced by using the power of your mind to let it go and turn yourself around.
To deepen this practice, add a few slow, deliberate, cleansing breaths. This relaxes your entire body and makes it easier to release what you have been holding.
Making Energy Clearing a Regular Practice
This is not a one-time remedy. It’s a practice. And like any practice, it becomes easier and more natural with repetition. Think of it as energetic hygiene: as fundamental to your daily wellbeing as any other form of self-care.

Do it every morning as you begin your day. Do it every evening to release what the day brought. Do it anytime throughout the day when you notice yourself feeling heavy, reactive, or drained. The more you practice, the more quickly and completely you will be able to shift your energy in the moment, rather than carrying it forward.
We all possess this ability. It is a natural human gift, and it is meant to be used.
If it feels difficult at first, that is normal. It simply means you have not yet made it a habit. But the more you try, the easier it will get, and the more clearly you will begin to see how much of your daily experience is shaped not by what is happening around you, but by the energetic state you are carrying within you.
Your Energy Is Your Responsibility and Your Power
In a world that is unlikely to slow down anytime soon, learning how to protect your energy from the constant influx of external stress is not a luxury. It is a form of sovereignty.
You may not be able to control the news cycle, the economy, or the instability unfolding around you. But you can control the state of your own inner field. You can decide, at any moment, to stop being at the mercy of accumulated energy and to consciously reset.
Use this natural human gift to refresh and reset whenever you like. You will find it so much easier to move your life forward in a happier, more fulfilling, and more grounded way.
